Orange bots
The Orange bot has a special place on planets that don't allow autonomous robots. They are the general labor for the planet and are very involved in everyday life. They are also ignored to a very high degree because of their ubiquity. They are endlessly useful for any number of maintenance needs as they built tough and stronger than most Prex.
The standard Imperial contract is 100 years of labor but this varies due to situation. Many are lead into Orange bot service due to debt or prison service. Prisoner variation get the worst tasks and always are painted yellow. These Yellow bots are basically never cared about so majorly malfunctioning Yellow bots are common.
After contracts most are given a simple body and their debt is taken care of. None are allowed their Orange bot body as they are used again for the next host.

Aftermath of Karr Station
The Karr station was a junction point for a large number of planets. The mining there on the asteroid rocks were always the main draw seconded only by the trade that happened there. Most large craft had to be inspected there before a quick journey to the Imperial Slipstreem. Near the Slipstream lay a three gas giants that circled each other in an odd orbit. If any ship got close or lost maneuverability the shifting gravity would pull apart said ship. The Slipstream station is kept in perfect orbit to throw any ships deep into the core universes and all traffic is tightly monitored.
Karr Station was literally pulled into another dimension it lost a dimension. The 2 dimensional Karr station then cracked the way a piece of glass breaks. From the ancient stories this points to one culprit...the Mi-Go.
The Mi-Go have been a story told to naughty prex children for generations, even before the old days. They would sneak in to your pod and take your brain put it in a jar and you would suffer for all time...If you did not do your chores. In the last 3 or 4 thousand years, during the Dominion rule, there was truth to these stories as space stations would be raided and all that would be found were bodies without their brains. Often a bloody circle would be on the ground next to the brainless corpse. After more than a hundred such investigations a pattern arose that you could count the circles to tell what brain they were on as it seemed the Mi-go would be able to carry 16 canisters in each hand. This made the expected loss of life at exactly 48 brain extractions plus those lost in the fighting.
The other way the Mi-Go are known to fight is turn a ship two dimensional steal all the Prex and then shatter the ship. This has been the case on many ships traveling outside the Slipstreams and the wreckage is merely salvage by those willing to melt it down and don't mind the blood. Escape Pods are a common thing to find around wreckage as they get away from the two dimensional bomb. Theses survivors are usually left to starve to death as space between locations is pretty large and the Mi-Go like prex to tell of their destruction.
Soon after Karr stations destruction the Imperial ship Pierre Guillaumat arrives to investigate.
